A couple of weeks ago Shop to Shop asked me to collate my pick of Melbournes best bargain stores. It was a hard task to narrow it down to 10, but I pushed up my sleeves and got to work. Enjoy my article below as first seen on Shop to Shop Melbourne.

1. Zomp

Zomp is my shoe heaven; amazing designer brands, beautiful leather, always with a large sale section. Go to find brands like Robert Robert, Senso, Marcus B and so many international designers. Heels, sandals or brogues, I always find something in this store and at a very affordable price.

Zomp is at Shop 9, 546 Chapel Street, South Yarra, and 277 Flinders Lane and 271 Little Collins Street, Melbourne. http://www.zomp.com.au/

2. Uniqlo

Maybe an obvious one, but Uniqlo is amazing for basics. With silk shirts and cotton tees hovering around the $30 mark, it’s the perfect store to spruce up your work wardrobe.

Uniqlo is at shop 26-27, Emporium Melbourne, 287 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne and Chadstone Shopping Centre, 1341 Dandenong Road, Chadstone. www.uniqlo.com/au

Jolie & Deen is a very pretty store with clothes and jewellery to match. The range focuses on beautiful cuts and fabrics designed to make you feel your best. They have an amazing accessories section full of dainty rings, arrow bracelets, fine necklaces, pearl details and more. I recommend heading in-store to check out their always-amazing sale racks (from $40) and gorgeous jewellery (perfect birthday gifts for your besties) from $29.95.

6. Leonard Joel Auction House

Leonard Joel is the largest auction market for the purchase of art, antiques, jewellery, collectables and furniture in the country. I love the fact that you’ll never know what you’ll come across – from David Bromley artwork to 1970s couches to vintage Louis Vuitton luggage to a stuffed lion, Leonard Joel will not disappoint. You can pick up an amazing bargain every week. If bidding isn’t your thing, leave an absentee bid on the viewing day (Wednesdays) and cross your fingers for some good news.

Leonard Joel is at 333 Malvern Road, South Yarra. https://leonardjoel.com.au/

7. Rubi Shoes

The best shoe store going round for cheap clogs, flat and sandals, Rubi always has 2 for $30 promotions and undoubtedly some of the best leather knock-offs in town. These shoes may not last forever, but are perfect for right now. With prices starting at $5 (yes, $5) the Pleather Gods will be smiling.

Rubi has three city stores and is also located at Chadstone and Northland. See the website for address details.

8. Kmart

Honestly one of Melbourne’s best bargain stores. You might not find a cocktail dress at Kmart, but you will find amazing separates to piece together stylish street outfits. With comfy work out gear a-plenty, $8 basic jeans, $4 basic tees and shoes galore this store is just too good.

And you must drop by their home-wares section – who doesn’t love a pineapple? At $15 it’s my new must-have piece.
